COLORMARQUE
ONCE UPON
A WALL
Once Up On A Wall was a first of its kind narrative mural exhibition. Titled "Infinite Life" we told the story of the lives process through the lens of the artists, at different phases (chapters).
With an interest in redefining what an art and gallery show could be, I helped to set a standard for events that incorporated a multi-disciplinary approach. These utilized murals, found objects, and digital elements to create a different type of immersive space for guests.
21 artists over 14 days created these 11 "chapters" throughout a 10,000 sq ft urban warehouse gallery in Pilsen, Chicago. We generated a massive audience that spanned all demographics.
Additionally the nature of the event drew school classrooms that incorporated the work into their curriculum.
While there are currently quite a number of places that serve up these types of experiences, this set the standard for them.
